Intel Core i5-13400F 13TH GEN PROCESSOR

The Intel Core i5-13400F is a 10-core upper mid-range processor from Intels 13th generation desktop processors (Raptor Lake S). Its ten cores use a hybrid layout and are made up of 6 strong P cores (Raptor Cove) and 4 smaller and very economical E cores (Gracemont). The latter come from Intels Atom series and work very economically. They often take on background tasks, but can also calculate in conjunction with the larger P-nuclei. The stronger P cores (Raptor Cove) are only a small further development of the predecessor and are still manufactured using the Intel 7 (optimized 10 nm) process. Together, the 10 cores of the Intel Core i5-13400F can process up to 16 threads simultaneously. The clock frequency of the Intel Core i5-13400F is 2.5 GHz for the P cores. These can clock at up to 4.6 GHz in turbo mode. The E cores have a clock frequency of 2.5 GHz and can reach a maximum of 3.3 GHz. The processor supports DDR5/DDR4 RAM with a capacity of up to 128 GB in two channels (dual channel). The new PCIe 5.0 standard is also already supported. Fast graphics cards and M.2 SSDs can be connected here in the future. The TDP of the Intel Core i5-13400F is 65 watts, but the processor can consume up to 117 watts of energy in the short term. Intel still manufactures its Raptor Lake processors in a monolithic design, i.e. the processors are manufactured in one piece. This is technically easier to solve, but has the disadvantage that if there is an error in production, the processor may no longer be able to be used or it may be delivered partially deactivated as a smaller processor. With the 14th generation of Intel Core i processors, which is expected for the end of 2023 and is called Meteor Lake, Intel wants to switch to a chiplet design in production, as AMD and Apple have been using for a long time.
